David Brond joins Del-Mar-Va Council, Boy Scouts of America Executive Board
The Del-Mar-Va Council of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) announced that David Brond, Vice President/Director of Account Services at ab+c Creative Intelligence, has been named to serve on the Council’s Executive Committee and Executive Board as Vice President of Marketing.
“David brings marketing leadership experience to the Council’s branding and communications plans that are integral to our new strategic plan,” said Council Board President Lynn Jones, president of home health & community services, Christiana Care Health System. “His expertise and strategic guidance will support continued community awareness to enhance the Council’s ability to increase membership and deliver high quality Scouting programs through new communication efforts and community partnerships.”
The Del-Mar-Va Council serves more than 9,700 youth each year in its Scouting programs through more than 3,200 volunteers and 299 chartered organizations. The Council covers 14 counties across the peninsula and is one of only eight out of 290 in the nation with four consecutive years of membership growth.

In his role at ab+c, David is responsible for overseeing and strategically guiding client relationships, public relations and social media capabilities and supporting new business development activities. David has more than 30 years of experience in communications, marketing and strategic planning leadership positions. He previously served as vice president for strategic communications and external relations at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Prior to that his appointments include serving as vice president for communications and marketing at Augusta University (formerly Georgia Regents University and Georgia Regents Health System), vice president for communications and marketing at the University of Delaware, and as vice president for marketing and strategic planning at the University of Maryland Medical System. David earned an MBA and MHA from Duke University and a bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University.
